When you came to me, you were like a bud,
like the flower of early spring,
safe-guarding your treasure
from the frost of the still chilly dawn.
But the rains have come
to free the nutrients in your soil,
to nourish you.
And you have allowed the sun to warm you.
I have watched you open,
watched potential blossom into soft azure petals.
I see you now,
straining to touch the sky,
to greet the sun.
I see you releasing pent up passion.
So fully alive,
So completely awake,
A hearty testament to the power of light.
